curedrinks materialised in late 1996 when fans in the UK decided to meet up in london to reminisce about past cure tours and events. as the years went on, the ad-hoc event picked up popularity as it was reported by the official cure fanzine "curenews" which seeked to gather fans around the globe to attend. several fans then requested a cure convention be held. curedrinks officially started at the hamilton hall pub in liverpool street in february 1998. the next curedrinks was at the princes louise pub in holborn. the third curedrinks was at the plough pub (a private room) near the british museum, featuring the first live performance of "a million and 9" (hugh wright) who played an exhausting set of cure songs.

the idea behind curedrinks grew and grew. a couple of years ago, nicci joined the team and brought fresh ideas to the table along with a few too many pints of guinness at the marlborough head pub where it became quickly apparent that we needed a proper music venue to host this now annual event. also note that the goth-metal types in the marlborough head hated us taking over their local! so the robert smith flag was taken down from the bar and moved to the venue formerly known as the verge in kentish town. the verge event was attended by over 200 fans from all over the world who witnessed fantastic performances by predominant lunatics and easy cure. the last few curedrinks have been particularly successful and are now run by a number of people.

this year, we are holding the event at west one four, which has recently seen a host of showcase bands play and a secret gig by none other than busted. the venue is ideal for our needs and has a top PA system plus a great selection of drinks at pub prices. curedrinks uses chain of flowers and stiff as toys websites for publicity and promotion. this is a non profit event.

we would like to thank all of the people over the years who have made curedrinks possible. we would also like to thank everyone who has contributed to the creation of this site.
